Pedernales Electric Cooperative welcomes members and the public to join its Power to Save Do-it-Yourself Workshop on Wednesday, July 18 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The workshop will take place at the Co-op’s Cedar Park office, located at 1949 W. Whitestone Blvd.

During the workshop, attendees can meet one-on-one with the Co-op’s knowledgeable conservation representatives and see how small, do-it-yourself projects can result in better control of home energy use.

“We are very excited to offer these hands-on conservation demonstrations and education on how to save both electricity and money,” PEC Communications Manager Michael Racis said. “Our goal is to give members the advice, tools and resources they need to make their homes and everyday lives more energy efficient.”

Co-op representatives also will be on hand to answer conservation-related questions, plus highlight energy-saving lighting options and the Co-op’s helpful online energy-monitoring tool, MyUse Energy Analyzer.

Members may register during the workshop for energy-efficient prizes, such as a home improvement gift card and weatherization kits.

There will also be a grand prize — an iPad 2. The winner of the iPad 2 will be chosen later from all eligible attendees from all the DIY workshops held throughout 2012. For more workshop information, visit our website.
