Hays CISD names PEC valued community partner
Local students from Jack C. Hays High School regularly win our annual Youth Tour contest
On Dec. 12, we were honored to receive an award of excellence from the Hays Consolidated Independent School District, which named PEC as a valued community partner. The award was presented at the Hays CISD board meeting, where the 2017 PEC Youth Tour finalists and delegates who attend Jack. C. Hays High School were also recognized.
While the award represents the district’s appreciation for our partnership with them through programs like our Bright Lights Bright Minds educational support contributions and educational presentations, this certificate was awarded specifically because of the Youth Tour program. Five Hays CISD students won, and three more finalists were from the district. For several years running, Jack C. Hays High School students have been selected for the program.
“We at PEC are great believers in the power of community,” said PEC Director of Connections & Community Engagement Trista Fugate. “By educating and supporting our youth, we help ensure that our towns and neighborhoods continue to thrive well into the future.”
Hays CISD Superintendent Michael McKie and the district’s students, teachers, partners in education and the community are proud of our friendship and contributions to education. The certificate states that because of our partnership, Hays CISD believes their district is one of the best in Texas.
