Voting begins May 18 in PEC board election
Board directors to be elected in districts 2 and 3
Voting opens May 18 for Pedernales Electric Cooperative’s annual election. In this year’s election, PEC members in board districts 2 and 3 will vote for directors who will represent them on the board. Members’ votes in our annual board election are their voice in our cooperative, and a chance to weigh in on leaders who will represent them and their interests.
District 2 and 3 members will be selecting from the following candidates, whose names are listed in the order they will appear on the ballot, determined by a random drawing:
- District 2: Emily Pataki, William D. (Bill) Boggs
- District 3: Eric Stratton; Randy R. Klaus, CPA; Matthew S. Weldon;
Judy Lawler Pokorny
Also on the ballot:
- An opportunity for members to opt in to the Power of Change program, PEC’s bill round up program that supports area nonprofit organizations.
Members should begin receiving ballots, election information and voting instructions May 18 from Survey & Ballot Systems (SBS), an independent company that manages PEC’s balloting. Completed ballots can be returned to SBS by mail using the included prepaid return envelopes, or by voting online through SBS’s secure website, directvote.net/pec. Members who have registered their email addresses with PEC will receive emails from SBS with links to the online ballot. Online voting is also available for members who bring in their ballots to PEC’s Liberty Hill and Cedar Park offices.
The deadline for mail and online voting is June 9.
This year, PEC is offering incentives for early voting. Members who vote by mail, online or at PEC’s Liberty Hill and Cedar Park office by June 9 will be entered into a random drawing for one of several prizes, including $500, $200 and $100 gift cards.
Members may also choose to vote in person before the start of PEC’s annual meeting. This year’s annual meeting will be held June 17 at Leander High School’s Don Tew Performing Arts Center. Election results will be announced before the conclusion of the meeting.
Election information including a sample ballot, candidate biographical information and video clips of PEC’s April 20 election forum are available at pec.coop/voting.
