Introducing our new interactive outage map
See where outages have been reported and the estimated restoration time
Nobody likes being in the dark, especially during a power outage. That’s why our new interactive outage map puts real-time information directly into your hands.
The map allows you to view outages anywhere in our service area. You can see at a glance how many locations are affected by a particular outage, whether we have crews on the way and the estimated time of restoration.
“The map enables members to view a Google map of the area — all the ZIP codes that are serviced by PEC — and see where outages are located,” PEC IT Project Manager Jerica Frye said. “There are symbols that indicate the number of meters affected by the outage, and if a crew has been assigned, members will see a symbol of a yellow hard hat.”
The map is an add-on to the new outage management system we installed in November 2016. That upgrade has improved our responsiveness and reliability as we distribute power to our service area. The map, available on phones, tablets and other devices, adds a key component for members: increased communication.
“The nicest thing about the outage map is that it’s intuitive,” Frye said. “It’s very easy to use, it’s comprehensive. We’re super happy to provide this for our members.”
Knowledge is power, and at PEC, we’re working to bring you both. Learn more at outages.pec.coop.
