PEC employees feed our neighbors in need
Volunteers prepare more than 8,900 meals, sort 10,000 pounds of food
On Dec. 14, about 50 PEC volunteers proudly sported signature PEC blue T-shirts, plastic hair caps and gloves at our second volunteer opportunity with the Central Texas Food Bank in Austin.

Our employees spent their afternoon hard at work with staff from other local companies in the food bank’s kitchen and warehouse, where they helped prepare hot meals and sorted donated items for Central Texans in need. Overall, we sorted more than 10,000 pounds of food and prepared more than 8,900 meals, and we had a blast doing it, too.
“When I was working in the food bank warehouse, everyone really had a great time together,” PEC Information Technology Manager Bernie Dawson said. “It feels special knowing we’re helping feed so many families around Central Texas.”
Concern for community is woven into the fabric of PEC as a matter of principle, and here at PEC, we are proud to energize our community in more ways than one.
“Giving back to our community with my friends and co-workers was an awesome experience,” PEC Member Services Agent Pamela Williams said. “Sharing and caring — that’s how our PEC family is making a difference!”
