Planned power interruptions for upgrades in Lakeway area Oct. 10, 11, 17

Project to improve local electric reliability

PEC will perform a power conversion on our Lakeway substation Oct. 10, 11 and 17, upgrading its power capacity to meet the growing energy needs of the Lakeway community. Members in the area may experience service interruptions between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Oct. 10-11, or 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 17.

“Projects like this underscore our commitment to system reliability and our members,” PEC Director of Regional Operations Virgil Maldonado said. “Our crews will be manually adjusting transformers to accommodate increased voltage on PEC distribution lines so our members in Lakeway can continue to experience reliable service. We’ve scheduled the conversions to minimize the planned outages as much as possible.”

If your location will be affected, you should have received a letter notifying you of the three-hour window in which an interruption will occur.

Please be aware that our crews will need to climb poles and utilize bucket trucks to access our transformers to complete this project. We request that you keep gates unlocked and dogs restrained.

At PEC, we’re constantly improving our system to continue bringing you the service and reliability you depend on. Every effort will be made to restore service as quickly as possible. However, if electricity has not been restored, members should call PEC’s Oak Hill district office at 800-868-4791, ext. 7920.
