Employee receives Community Spirit Award from Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce
David Aguilar brings holiday spirit to Canyon Lake
Canyon Lake Regional Operations Manager David Aguilar was blown away when he received the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce Community Spirit Award at his district’s safety meeting on Jan. 25.

“I was kind of amazed,” Aguilar said. “I didn’t know I’d even been nominated until I got to work and my manager told me congratulations.”
Earlier this fall, as in years past, the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce reached out to Aguilar for assistance coordinating the hanging of Christmas lights and decorations over area roads. Aguilar and his team lent a hand not only in Canyon Lake, but also in the surrounding communities of Blanco, Sattler and Hancock, bringing seasonal joy and festivity to local residents.
“We do this for the members,” Aguilar said. “We are a member-owned co-op, so we like to get out and give back as much as we can, when we can. I’m honored to be recognized, but I couldn’t have done it without my guys. They put all the work into it. I just made the contact and coordinated it.”
The Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce shared this statement about the Community Spirit Award and Aguilar’s contribution to the community: “The Community Spirit Award is awarded to an individual who has made a difference in the community through their efforts to serve various causes and organizations within the community. David Aguilar has coordinated the hanging of the community Christmas lights and banners annually for the Canyon Lake Area Chamber.”
Congratulations to Aguilar on his award. We’re proud of his efforts to keep our community bright.
