PEC invites members to meet 2018 board candidates

District 1, 6 and 7 offices host events May 29-31

Pedernales Electric Cooperative is inviting members from districts 1, 6 and 7 to meet and learn more about this year’s board candidates running to represent their district. The events will take place May 29–31 at PEC district offices.

District 1

The event will take place Tuesday, May 29, at 5:30 p.m. at PEC’s Liberty Hill office, located at 10625 Hwy 29. PEC’s District 1 includes parts of Bell, Burnet, Lampasas, Travis and Williamson counties.

Three local PEC members are running for the opportunity to serve the cooperative: Donna Holland Wilcox, Milton Rister and Frank Haskell.

District 6

The event will take place Wednesday, May 30, at 5:30 p.m. at PEC’s Canyon Lake office, located at 1530 FM 2673. PEC’s District 6 includes parts of Blanco, Comal, Edwards, Hays, Kerr, Kinney and Real counties.

Two local PEC members are running for the opportunity to serve their cooperative: Paul Graf and Andrew W. Cable.

District 7

The event will take place Thursday, May 31, at 5:30 p.m. at PEC’s Kyle office, located at 1810 FM 150 West. PEC’s District 7 includes parts of Caldwell, Hays and Travis counties.

Two local PEC members are running for the opportunity to serve their cooperative: Travis Cox and Amy Lea SJ Akers.

Early voting

Early voting in this year’s election begins May 24 and runs through June 15. Members may vote online, by mail or online via SmartHub. Members may also vote online using an iPad at PEC’s Canyon Lake, Junction, Kyle, Liberty Hill and Marble Falls offices, plus PEC’s headquarters.

This year, the cooperative is offering incentives for early voting. Members who vote by June 15 will be entered into a random drawing for $150 bill credits.

Members may also choose to vote in-person at PEC’s annual meeting, which will be held Saturday, June 23, at Smithson Valley High School in Spring Branch. Election results will be announced before the conclusion of that meeting.
