We’re in the final month of Power Rush Hour, the summer peak season that determines our transmission costs for the following year based on the cooperative’s energy use during the periods of highest statewide demand from June through September.
Last year, our members’ efforts to conserve and shift energy use from 2-6 p.m. combined with PEC’s energy-saving initiatives, helped us avoid $1.4 million in transmission costs. Those are savings we pass on directly to you — so let’s keep shifting and saving through the end of September!
