Teens go on all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., for Youth Tour
See why teens call it ‘the trip of a lifetime’
It’s the trip of a lifetime for teens all over the nation! This summer, PEC proudly sent 10 local high school students to learn about and experience our nation’s capital on the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s Youth Tour.
This all-expenses-paid, week-long trip allows students to explore museums, memorials and monuments and visit with their Congressional representatives while creating lasting friendships with students near and far. Youth Tour was inspired by then-Sen. Lyndon B. Johnson, who in 1957 expressed his desire for young people to visit Washington to “actually see what the flag stands for and represents.”
