District 4 Director Jim Powers announces resignation
Resignation will have an effective date of Oct. 1
District 4 Director Jim Powers announced his resignation from the PEC Board of Directors Sept. 20; his resignation has an effective date of Oct. 1. Powers was elected to the board in 2016 and was reelected this year to another term.
In a letter to the board, Powers said he is grateful for the trust and confidence his constituents have shown him during his tenure on the board, but that there are other opportunities that require his attention and new avenues to pursue.
“While this has been a decision I have really struggled with, I know everything my colleagues and I have accomplished during my tenure has helped make it easier,” Powers said. “We accomplished a lot of good things that we can all be proud of.”
The remaining PEC Board members will meet in the coming weeks to determine next steps regarding the District 4 director seat, as prescribed by the board’s bylaws.
“I am grateful for Jim’s service to our membership over the past three years,” said Paul Graf, board president and District 6 director. “The entire board wishes him and his family all the best as they continue to be valued members of our great cooperative.”
“On behalf of PEC and its employees, we wish Jim well in his future endeavors,” added CEO Julie C. Parsley. “We greatly appreciate the support Jim gave us during his tenure.”
