PEC hosts 131st Southwest Electric Safety Exchange conference
Utility companies share safety practices at regional event
In our ongoing commitment to safety, PEC proudly hosted the 131st Southwest Electrical Safety Exchange (SWESE) conference April 22-25 in San Antonio. The recent event was a success, drawing more than 360 electric utility professionals and 45 industry vendors from across seven of the country’s southwest states: Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas.

The conference allows SWESE members to gather and discuss safety tips and best practices within the industry.
“As the largest cooperative in the nation with a culture focused on safety, it was important to host this event for our fellow utilities and SWESE members,” said James Vasquez, PEC’s safety and technical training manager.
“The lessons learned here are priceless and can help save lives. We’re proud to help arm our team and those beyond PEC with knowledge and tools to work as safely as possible.”
PEC has been a member of SWESE since 2016. The next SWESE conference will take place in El Paso in April 2020, hosted by El Paso Electric.
