PEC employees help prepare for Johnson City Lights Spectacular
30 volunteers help carry on a holiday tradition
Last month, 30 PEC employees joined local volunteers to help prep for the annual Johnson City Lights Spectacular, which brings thousands of spectators to PEC’s hometown every holiday season.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the tradition continues to be supported 100% by volunteer efforts.
PEC Community Relations Coordinator Caroline Tinsley Porter organized the volunteer opportunity, and was proud of the turnout and results.
“The annual Johnson City Lights Spectacular is a time-honored tradition for so many PEC members and visitors to the Texas Hill Country,” she said. “Working together, PEC volunteers helped create lighting panels that will illuminate the courthouse for the next five years.”
This year’s Lights Spectacular will run from Friday, Nov. 29, through Sunday, Jan. 5. PEC’s Headquarters will have its own dazzling display of 1.3 million lights during that same period.
“It’s our pleasure to help ensure this year’s event is even bigger and brighter than before,” Porter said.
