PEC receives Texas Public Power Association’s System Achievement Award
Cooperative honored for enhancing public power and customer service
The Texas Public Power Association (TPPA) named PEC the winner of its 2019 System Achievement Award. PEC received the award July 31 at TPPA’s annual meeting in San Antonio. The award recognizes outstanding achievement by utilities in public power that have helped enhance the field and improve customer service.

“To be recognized as a standout in the industry is truly an honor,” said PEC Chief Executive Officer Julie C. Parsley. “This has been a remarkable year for PEC, and one of tremendous growth — not only in our membership, but also as a cooperative. I’m proud of our team and grateful for their continued dedication to our members each and every day.”
PEC was selected based upon its accomplishments in 2018, which include:
- Reaching more than 314,000 active accounts
- Maintaining a strong AA- Fitch Rating
- Returning more than $11.9 million in capital credits to its members
- Receiving recognition by J.D. Power as the 10th best electric utility in the nation for member satisfaction
- Making National Cooperative Bank’s Top 100 Co-ops list at No. 89
- Being named Best Electrical Company in the Austin American-Statesman’s 2018 Best of the Best awards
- Major wins at the International Lineman’s Rodeo, bringing home eight awards
