Five reasons to love your cooperative

Discover the meaning of your PEC membership

This month, we celebrate National Cooperative Month, and want you to know how we, as your electric cooperative, continue to work for you. At PEC, we take pride in not only being your electric cooperative, but your partner. Strong and true, we honor our commitment to deliver the best possible service, no matter the challenge. This year has been no exception. As we strive to brighten our communities, we find strength in helping those we serve. Thank you for being part of the PEC family!

Supporting our members and communities

PEC’s COVID-19 Relief Fund and Small Power Assistance Program are helping our members and rural economies by providing utility bill assistance for members and small businesses affected by the pandemic. At the beginning of September, our employees and members had donated nearly $80,000 toward these efforts. Both programs closed on Nov. 1, 2020.

 Improving reliability

We know that right now, having safe, reliable electric service is especially important. And while we continue to experience record growth even through the pandemic, we’re working hard so you can count on us. Through our innovative programs and the hard work of our employees, our outage times remain low.

Lowering our rates

We’re committed to delivering electric service at some of the lowest rates in Texas. This summer, we even announced a rate reduction to our base power cost while improving reliability — showing our commitment to delivering low-cost, high-quality electric service.

Providing safety and energy-saving tips

We’re always providing important information to you and your family, including safety news, the latest updates from your cooperative, and ways to save energy and money. Stay connected by following our social media channels, visiting, and reading Texas Co-op Power magazine.

Adapting to serve you safely

As critical infrastructure providing you with an essential service, the pandemic has posed challenges to the way PEC has traditionally provided service. While we’ve adjusted our operations for everyone’s health and safety, through it all, we continue to do our best to meet your needs and keep the lights on.

The PEC difference according to our members

“At a time when people are overworked and stressed with what is going on in the world, [your agent] was so pleasant and easy going.”
