PEC to return $6.1 million in capital credits this year

The PEC Board of Directors has approved a distribution of $6.1 million in capital credits to current and former PEC members.

As part of the cooperative difference, our members are owners in this cooperative. As such, PEC returns funds not invested in the electrical system that powers your life. These funds returned to you are called capital credits.

This year’s distribution will take place in accordance with our capital credits policy as follows:

  • In 2020, we are distributing $6.1 million in capital credits to current and former PEC members who accumulated capital credits in 2019 and 1993.
  • Members are scheduled to receive distributions as credits on their December bills. Members with multiple accounts will receive all of their credits on one account’s bill.
  • Former PEC members with capital credit distributions totaling more than $10 will receive a check. A check may be issued for any distribution under $10 by request or when accumulated unpaid distributions exceed $10. Former members are encouraged to contact us to ensure their current address is on file.
