PEC contributes $24K to support youth education
Donations benefit Central Texas education foundations, school districts, and public libraries
As part of its ongoing commitment to support education initiatives for youth, Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) recently donated $24,000 to education foundations, independent school districts, and public libraries located in and around its service territory.
Each organization received a $1,000 donation to fund projects including scholarships for graduating seniors, new technology, and musical education. Other groups used funds to provide grants for teachers.
“Supporting youth education and programs is a direct investment in the future of our communities,” PEC Community Relations Coordinator Caroline Tinsley Porter said. “By providing our educators with the tools they need, we’re opening doors to opportunities that will benefit Central Texans for years to come.”
PEC’s education contributions are funded through its members’ voluntary contributions to the Power of Change program.
