Doing our part
How PEC members are pitching in to protect the grid during Power Rush Hour®
As temperatures rise during the summer, so does statewide demand on the electric grid. Let’s all do our part, alongside our neighbors, to protect the grid by shifting our use outside of Power Rush Hour from 2-7 p.m. Plus, next year’s ERCOT transmission costs are based on PEC members’ use during peak times from June to September. Together, we can save now and later by conserving energy this summer.

“We’re not running appliances until after dinner.” - PEC Members Paul and Gerry Smith

“We’re unplugging and spending more time outside.” - PEC Members Perla, Ximena, and Arturo Díaz
If we all make simple contributions like these, we can protect the grid this summer and create savings for everyone. Learn more at pec.coop/power-rush-hour.
