PEC crews are making progress
98% of meters online
This week, PEC faced an unprecedented number of outages resulting from extreme weather that caused equipment failures and a statewide service interruption directive.
For the first time since 2011, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) mandated PEC and other utilities across Texas implement service interruptions to reduce demand. These rolling outages lasted for days.
PEC lineworkers remain in the field, working long hours in dangerous conditions to get the lights — and the heat — back on. At the time of publication, our hardworking lineworkers have helped restore power to 98% of our meters across our 8,100 square mile service territory.
Please know, we will not rest until every single member has the electric service they rely on. Your PEC crew in blue is here for you.
