PEC enhances emergency operations

Enhanced outage map and text alerts available now!

If you were to experience a power loss today, would you know what to do? As a PEC member, it’s helpful to know about the tools available to help keep you informed and get your power restored as quickly as possible.

Upgraded outage map

Enhanced outage map and text alerts available now!

PEC’s new and improved outage map is a great place to start when you have an outage. By checking this webpage, members can confirm that their outage has been reported and that it’s being addressed. Members can also track the status of their outage with this tool and in many cases, receive an estimated restoration time.

The map is user friendly, has a fresh look, and includes many updated features that will help our crews restore your power as quickly and safely as possible. The updated design also makes it easier to see if your location is included in a registered outage. Learn how to read the new outage map here.

Members can report and track outages at pec.coop/outages or by calling 888-883-3379.

Sign up for emergency SMS text alerts

PEC also offers a new, one-way text alert service where we can message our members during an emergency. Alerts can include messages about prolonged power interruptions, mandated rolling outages, and other emergency events. If you would like to receive these alerts, just add your mobile phone number to PEC’s SmartHub or call 888-554-4732 to verify your phone number on file.
