PEC launches SMS texting for emergency alerts

Text notifications to keep you informed

At PEC, we are always looking for ways to improve the member experience. Keeping members informed is one way to do that, which is why we are now offering a one-way emergency SMS (text) alert service. With this new capability, we can send a text message to your mobile phone during an emergency, including prolonged power interruptions and peak energy demand situations requiring action by the cooperative. Message and data rates may apply.

If you have a valid mobile phone number on file, you will automatically receive a text message verifying your enrollment. The message will come from number 25022, and it will look similar to the message below. Standard message rates and data charges may apply, and you have can easily opt out of these alerts if you prefer not to receive them (just reply STOP to the verification message).

To verify your mobile phone number on file, log in to SmartHub or call 888-554-4732.

Additional texting features are on the way, including the ability to report and receive updates on outages, request billing information, or even text with an agent.

If you have any questions, please call 888-554-4732 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
