PEC employees ‘step forward’ to volunteer with LCRA

Employees volunteer at four locations for LCRA Steps Forward Day

On Friday, April 1, PEC employees showed their cooperative spirit by joining forces with LCRA to volunteer in the community for Steps Forward Day. About 30 volunteers showed up to help at Lakeside Pavilion, Marble Falls Boys & Girls Club, Rusty Allen Airport in Lago Vista, and in Cottonwood Shores doing things like planting trees, spreading mulch, cleaning flower beds, and painting.

In PEC’s first volunteer event since 2019, employees from across all departments came together to support their communities. As a cooperative, PEC is rooted in seven key principles, one of which is concern for community. These events are a great way for PEC employees to demonstrate their commitment to that principle, and one of the things that makes the cooperative an exceptional place to work.

“It feels good to get back out and help our communities,” Community Relations Manager Caroline Tinsley Porter said. “Employees are committed to enriching our communities and are willing to go above and beyond their regular jobs to make it happen.”
