Press Release: PEC celebrates Read Across America Day
Co-op creates free online video readings for students, parents, and educators
Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) is committed to supporting education and opportunity for youth in Central Texas and proud to participate in National Read Across America Day March 2, 2022. The annual event was started by the National Education Association and is the nation’s largest celebration of reading.
To kick off this year’s Read Across America Day, PEC staff curated a collection of elementary book favorites for our youngest members to enjoy. PEC employees chose four different books to read aloud and created a video to share with parents and teachers. The video is free and available online for students to enjoy throughout the year.
To further support area schools, PEC also donated a copy of, “Dog Breath: The Horrible Trouble with Hally Tosis” by Dav Pikey to 100 elementary schools across the co-op’s service territory.
Access PEC’s video readings of the book titles listed below and read along to help foster a love for books in young students.
