Back to school: be extra aware on the roads
Watch for students and move over, slow down for utility vehicles
Back to school is upon us, which means more traffic on the roads and students out and about. Keep it safe by being extra aware of your surroundings while driving, especially in and around school zones.
And don’t forget to move over and slow down for vehicles pulled over with flashing lights — it’s the law! This includes PEC bucket trucks with amber-colored lights, as well as police, fire, and emergency vehicles. Drivers must move out of the lane closest to the utility vehicle when possible, or slow down to 20 miles per hour below the posted speed limit.
