Dripping Springs employees bake their best for PEC
Cooperative hosts employee bake-off competition to celebrate 85th anniversary
PEC employees and their families gathered at the cooperative’s Dripping Springs office September 12, to put their best baked goods forward in celebration of the co-op’s 85th anniversary.
Entries ranged from cakes and cookies to pies and a variety of delicious confections. Ted Groholske with The Greater San Marcos Partnership served as the competition’s grand prize judge.
Employees who didn’t compete still had a chance to participate by taste testing entries with a $5 donation to benefit PEC’s Power of Change Program.
Throughout its history, PEC has been committed to caring for its communities through programs like Power of Change that help support local nonprofits. Showing this concern for community is part of our cooperative difference.
The following employees and their entries were named winners in their respective categories:
Grand Prize: Selected by Ted Groholske based on appearance, taste, and texture.
Kendra Acosta, PEC media affairs and communications strategist — Lemon Edible Delight (LED) Cupcakes
People’s Choice: Selected by employees.
Rachael Jones (wife of Benjamin Juarez, PEC journeyworker) — Blueberry Lemon Cupcakes
Lucky Draw: Selected by a random draw of entries, except those selected as the Grand Prize and People’s Choice award winners.
Donna Sloan, PEC member relations agent — Cinnamon Red Hot Devils
