PEC employees ‘step forward’ for our communities

Volunteer work put in at three locations for LCRA Steps Forward Day

Our employees “stepped forward” to help improve their communities during LCRA Steps Forward Day on Friday, April 14. PEC blue covered areas in Dripping Springs, Wimberley, and New Braunfels to complete projects at local parks.

Teams replaced landscaping at the entrance to the sports and recreation park in Dripping Springs, and painted concession stand doors, the equipment shed, and the foul poles at the baseball fields. In Wimberley, employees painted and stained buildings and doors to freshen up Blue Hole Regional Park. And in New Braunfels, they brought their green thumbs to spread mulch around trees at Landa Park.

As a cooperative, PEC is rooted in seven key principles, one of which is concern for community. These events are a great way for PEC employees to demonstrate their commitment to that principle, and one of the things that makes the cooperative an exceptional place to work.

“Our employees show how much they care for our communities on a daily basis, which is why we’re always so proud to join forces with LCRA for these projects,” Community Relations Manager Caroline Tinsley Porter said. “Events like these are just another opportunity that our employees take advantage of to exhibit their passion for our members.”
