PEC to return $6 million in capital credits in 2023
Look for capital credits on your January bill
As a PEC member, you’re an owner in this cooperative — so rather than earning profits, PEC returns to you any income not used for building and operating the electric system that powers your life. The funds returned to you are called capital credits.
In December, the board approved $6 million in capital credits to be distributed in January 2023 to current and former PEC members! Returning capital credits is part of our PEC promise and just one of the many benefits of your cooperative membership.
This year’s distribution will take place in accordance with our capital credits policy as follows:
- In 2023, we are distributing $6 million in capital credits to current and former PEC members who accumulated capital credits in 2021 and 1995.
- Members are scheduled to receive distributions as credits on their January bills. Members with multiple accounts will receive all their credits on one account’s bill.
- Former PEC members with capital credit distributions totaling more than $10 will receive a check. A check may be issued for any distribution under $10 by request or when accumulated unpaid distributions exceed $10. Former members are encouraged to contact us to ensure their current address is on file.
