Blockhouse to Whitestone Substations, Transmission Line Upgrades

PEC will a rebuild and upgrade to the existing wood-pole 138 kV transmission line that connects the Blockhouse substation to the Whitestone substation in Williamson County. Upgrades are scheduled to begin December 2021 and are estimated to be completed by the end of April 2022.

Where possible, the rebuild will take place within an area currently occupied by transmission line to help minimize the impact to landowners adjacent to the existing line. Existing infrastructure including single wooden poles will be replaced with single steel poles that can carry more power and be operated at the same voltage.

The upgraded infrastructure is needed to support energy needs of the region, improve reliability, and reduce maintenance costs.
