PEC On Your Property

To maintain the reliable service you depend on, we may occasionally need to knock on your door or access equipment on your property. Here are some things you should know.

Identifying Workers

If you see someone you don’t recognize on your property, ask them for identification. All PEC employees carry a company ID, and many travel in vehicles with PEC logos and wear PEC uniform shirts.

Our contractors will carry letters of authorization from PEC and will gladly supply them upon request. If someone on your property claims to be from PEC and refuses to show ID, call us immediately at 888-554-4732.

Locked Gates

If you have a locked gate that could block access to our service crews, please provide us with a key or let us know the code or combination. Otherwise, we’ll need to add one of our locks to your gate. Keys and combinations for our locks are restricted to the crew members who need them.

Asking for Payment

We will never send someone to your door requesting immediate payment in the form of cash, credit or prepaid card. Our member services field representatives may collect payment only in the form of checks made out to “Pedernales Electric Cooperative.”

If anyone claiming to be a PEC employee comes to your door demanding payment in any form other than a check written to PEC or threatening to cut off service, do not pay them. Ask to see their ID and call us at 888-554-4732, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., to verify your account status. If they cannot or will not produce PEC ID, please contact your local law enforcement agency.
