Understanding Your Bill

Our monthly bills are designed to make sure you understand everything about your account, including your charges and energy use. Our fresh design includes new and improved charts to help you better understand your energy use habits. Refer to the diagram and definitions on this page to learn more about your bill.

  1. AMOUNT DUE
    We’ve made it easy to spot your total amount due and the due date by prominently positioning them at the top center of your bill. You’ll find this information circled and in large text so it’s easy to find and read.
  2. ACCOUNT NUMBER
    Your PEC account number: You’ll need it to call us, access your account, or to report an outage.
  3. DIRECTOR DISTRICT
    This number identifies your PEC Board Director voting district.
  4. MONTHLY ENERGY USE
    Want to understand your energy use? View a graph of your month-to-month energy consumption in kilowatt hours (kWh). See your trends over the past year, and compare your use against weather data.
  5. ENERGY COMPARISON
    Follow trends in your monthly energy use and costs by comparing them to the previous month and the same month last year. You’ll also see your average energy cost per day and by kWh for the current bill.
  6. IMPORTANT MEMBER INFORMATION
    Learn what’s happening at your cooperative. We’ll fill this section with helpful information, from the latest PEC news and programs, to energy-saving tips, safety information, and more!
  7. PEC SECURE PAY STATIONS
    Scan and pay your bill at any PEC Secure Pay Station, using this handy barcode. Stations are conveniently placed outside each of our office locations.
  8. BILLING PERIOD
    This shows the date range, “from” and “to,” for which you are being billed.
  9. METER MULTIPLIER
    Some meters register only a portion of kilowatt-hours (kWh) used. For these special meters, PEC uses a multiplier to calculate your use.
  10. PREVIOUS AND CURRENT ACCOUNT ACTIVITY
    This is a breakdown of your previous balance, payment received, and current total amount due.
  11. PAPERLESS and/or AUTO PAY CREDIT
    Members earning monthly savings by enrolling in our convenient billing options will see their credit or credits as separate line items here.
