Letter of Guaranty

New applicants or existing members will be required to pay a deposit for service in the event they fail to provide verifiable identification information as requested. For applicants, documentation of satisfactory credit at their former utility will also be required to avoid a deposit.

In order to have a deposit for residential electric service waived, applicants may instead submit a letter of credit, or submit a Residential Letter of Guaranty signed by a current PEC member. Letters of Guaranty are not accepted for commercial accounts.

Applicant’s Responsibilities

  • Complete the “Member” information sections of the Residential Letter of Guaranty.
    Give the “Guarantor Copy” to the guarantor for his or her records.

Guarantor’s Responsibilities

  • Complete and sign the “Guarantor” information sections of the Residential Letter of Guaranty.
  • Be sure to keep a copy for your records.

The Guarantor’s liability for the new member’s account will end when the member has paid his or her bills for 12 consecutive months without service being disconnected for nonpayment, without having more than one late payment, and without having more than one returned item.
