Pedernales Electric's rate structure is designed to more clearly reflect the Cooperative’s delivery and power supply costs. For more information, review PEC's Tariff for Electric Service. PEC's Line Extension Policy and Service Policy also are available for download.
Details about Pedernales Electric's current energy charges are available in the Summary of Rates, which defines rates, fees, and rate types. To determine your Total Power Cost per kilowatt-hour (kWh) consumed, add the set Base Power Cost per kWh to the fluctuating Power Cost Adjustment (PCA) per kWh. The PCA, which is updated monthly, adjusts to reflect the cost of power determined by PEC's power suppliers. These costs are explained in more detail in the Summary of Rates.
The most current PCA figure available is $0.000 per kwh for both primary and secondary service. This will be reflected on bills rendered on or after November 1, 2009.
PEC has worked to make environmentally friendly electricity affordable. Members choosing to receive electricity from renewable sources now pay a premium of only $0.005 (one half of one cent) more per kWh than their regular energy charge. Members who operate small power production equipment, such as solar panels, are eligible to apply for interconnection.
