PEC Elections
A fundamental part of the cooperative difference is that we are democratically controlled by our members. We embrace democracy through our annual election, in which PEC members elect other members to serve as directors, and in some years, in which members vote on proposed Co-op initiatives. Director candidates are nominated by members through a petition process.
On the 2012 Ballot
This year, members will vote on proposed amendments to the Co-op's Articles of Incorporation and elect directors to serve a three-year term, 2012 – 2015, for Board districts 1, 6 and 7. Survey & Ballot Systems (SBS), an independent election services company, will manage balloting.
Browse the links below to read more about the proposed amendments and to see candidates' photos, videos, biographical information and the contact information they authorized for posting. Candidates are listed in the order in which they will appear on the ballot. Each board candidate assumes all responsibility for their biographical content, which appears exactly as the candidates submitted to PEC. PEC takes no position on issues and expresses no preference for any candidates.
How You Can Vote
Ballots were mailed May 9 to all PEC members. In addition, members who have registered their email addresses with PEC were emailed notices with links to the online ballot. Members will be able to vote by returning completed ballots to SBS by mail using the included prepaid return envelopes or by voting online through SBS’s secure website. Mail-in and online voting must be completed by June 15. Ballots will not be accepted at PEC’s offices. Members also will be able to vote in person at PEC’s annual meeting June 23 in Kyle, where election results will be announced.
