Everything you need is in the palm of your hand
We do our best to prevent outages, but when they happen, it’s essential to be prepared. Your smartphone has the tools to report an outage to us immediately. Before the next storm, download PEC’s SmartHub app, and always keep your phone and a charged battery bank nearby in case of an outage or emergency.
Text your outage
First, make sure your mobile number is associated with your account. Then, save the number 25022 to your contacts — you can now report your outage to PEC by simply texting us the word “outage.” We will automatically send you updates should they become available. And, we can send you important messages, like during an emergency or when an outage is planned at your location.
Reporting your outage by text only works if you have only one account associated with your mobile phone number, but don’t worry. You can use your smartphone to easily report your outage online at map.pec.coop. No account number required!
Track our progress
After reporting your outage, track restoration efforts using our outage map at map.pec.coop. Our new and improved map also allows you to report your outage without signing in to your account.
Stay charged
When inclement weather is in the forecast, make sure to keep your devices charged. Get a battery bank so you can charge your phone even if the power is out, and make sure it’s charged, too.
A light in the dark
We recommend adding flashlights to your emergency kit, but in a pinch, your phone has a flashlight setting that can help you safely get around the house. But beware, the flashlight will quickly drain your battery.
